Unknown Gunmen Attack Police Station, Kill Many Officers In Anambra

Unidentified gunmen set fire to a police station in Anambra State, killing many personnel.

Gunmen stormed Mbieri Police Division in Imo State a few hours before the event.

The shooters were met with fierce resistance by police officers at the station, according to reports.

The assailants hurled explosive devices at the station before firing erratically, according to Mike Abattam, a spokesman for the state police command.

According to reports, the current incident occurred in Amichi, the hometown of Simon Okeke, the former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The police station was set on at 7.30 p.m. on Friday, according to an eyewitness.

The number of victims could not be determined at the time of reporting this report.
