Joe Igbokwe Salutes Soludo Over Plan To Stop IPOB Activities

Joe Igbokwe, a spokesman for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, has praised Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo for establishing a peace commission to halt the activities of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The governor of Anambra has formed a 15-member Truth, Justice, and Peace Commission, according to Anaedoonline.ng, which would explore a restorative justice method for truth-telling or true facts.

According to Soludo, the committee would seek a justice strategy for the healing of the victims of the violence, which will include accounting for the actors’ duty and accountability, among other things.

The governor, however, gave the commission a six-month timeline to conclude the assignment from the date of inauguration.

Reacting in a post on his Facebok page on Wednesday, Igbokwe appreciated Soludo for addressing the activities of the outlawed group in the South East.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), however, called on the people of the South East to support the governor on the decision.

“This is a great move. Gov Soludo should be supported by every Igbo man that has igbo blood flowing in him,” he wrote.

Anaedoonline.ng reported that the Truth, Justice and Peace Commission will be headed by human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu with Amb. Bianca Ojukwu as Secretary.
