Will Smith, an American actor, has reacted to the Academy’s decision to ban him from its events for ten years.
After Chris Rock made a joke about his wife, Jada, at the Oscars in March, the actor was banned for hitting him.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced the decision on Friday.

Will Smith said he accepts the judgment in a brief statement to Page Six.
“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” he said simply.
The prize for Best Actor, however, was not taken away from him.
This comes after the actor expressed sorrow for his acts and apologized for them.
His behavior against Chris Rock was “embarrassing and inappropriate,” he said.
