Unknown Gunmen Attacks: Use Anambra Youths To Fight Insecurity – NYCN Charges Soludo

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Anambra State has urged the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to work with the state’s youths in the battle against insecurity.

Several incidents of instability have occurred in the state in the last week, including the burning of local government secretariats and police buildings around the state.

Governor Soludo had indicated that police investigations found that the suspects apprehended and those participating in the attacks were from outside the state in response to one of the attacks.

Mrs Ijeoma Onuorah-Anyakwo, a senior member of the Anambra chapter of the NYCN and chairwoman of the group’s election debate, believes that partnering with the young is the best approach to combat those who cause fear in the state.

Speaking to journalists during a debate exercise organised for candidates of various positions to talk about their reason for aspiring to lead in the state, Onuorah-Anyakwo said youths in the state have become enlightened, and ready to partner with the government against those causing insecurity in the state.

“Our governor has told us that from arrests made so far, those involved are not even from Anambra State, and our youths are now enlightened and not willing to join anyone who would destabilize the peace and economy of the state.

“You can see the chairmanship candidates of the state chapter of NYCN, and if you listen to all of them, top on their agenda is how to galvanize the youths to fight the insecurity in the state, and I think the governor should seize this opportunity to partner the youths.
