PDP Presidential Ticket: Tambuwal Reveals Why PDP Need A Consensus Candidate

Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto, believes that a consensus presidential candidate for the 2023 elections will be beneficial to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The candidate argued that it was still the greatest option for Nigeria’s largest opposition platform.

NAN reports that Tambuwal filed his nomination and expression of interest form in Abuja on Tuesday.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives is likewise convinced that a compromise will benefit him.

“Consensus is beneficial. It’s good for the party. His supporter, Nicholas Msheliza, told reporters, “Our prayer is that the consensus would favor me.”

“I am the frontline aspirant. Our thinking, our prayer and hope is that the consensus will go my way.”

The Tambuwal camp says the aspirant enjoys acceptability among the PDP family nationwide.

Others in the race are ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim, Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Nyesom Wike (Rivers), and ex-Anambra Governor Peter Obi.
