Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a British millionaire, has made a last-minute bid for Chelsea.

A representative for the Ineos CEO confirmed this development.

Ratcliffe’s past due diligence on Chelsea will speed up the process of his bid, reducing any delays in the selling process, which is being led by the Raine Group of New York.

The Ratcliffe’s late entry into the race to acquire Chelsea from Roman Abramovich adds another heavyweight contender to the mix.

A spokesperson for Ratcliffe told The Times that the British business magnate has made a huge offer to buy Chelsea

The bid is understood now to represent the highest for the club.

‘We put an offer in this morning,’ Ratcliffe told The Times.
