Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has announced his ambition to run for president in 2023 on the platform of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Wednesday, Akpabio, a two-time former governor of Akwa Ibom State, made the announcement at Ikot Ekpene, a town in the state’s south-central region.

The former governor will compete for the APC ticket against Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Lagos State Governor Asiwju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, among others, who have announced to run on the governing party’s platform.
