BLASPHEMY: Police Arrest 2 Over Killing Of Female Student In Sokoto

Some people have been detained in Sokoto State in connection with the murder of Deborah Samuel, a female student.

ASP Sanusi Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer, issued the statement on Thursday evening.

He claimed a distress call came at around 0900 hours from Shehu Shagari College of Education.

Students rioted over Deborah, a 200-level student, according to reports.

She was accused of blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad on social media (SAW).

According to Abubakar, students forcibly pulled the victim from the security room where she had been concealed by school officials, murdered her, and set fire to the facility.

The students joined forces with criminals and barred the Sokoto/Jega route, according to the spokesperson.

He stated that after obtaining the information, DC Operations dispatched a team of cops and other operational commanders to the school.

“The situation was brought under control when the road was cleared. In connection with the crime, two students were detained.”

The school has been shuttered by school officials, and police officers have been sent to provide extra protection.

Kola Okunlola, the Commissioner of Police, has urged citizens not to panic and to go about their legitimate business.

Others in the viral video spotted “will be nabbed shortly,” Abubakar promised.
