Stanley Nweze, a Nollywood actor, has chastised the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) organizers for ignoring actors from the southeast.

The AMVCA’s star-studded 8th edition took place over the weekend at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

At the presentation, actors like as Funke Akindele, Stan Nze, Ramsey Nouah, Broda Shaggi, and Osas Ighodaro received honors.

On social media, however, there were fears that films made in Asaba and other regions of the country were being overlooked.

In response to the incident, the actor presented a case for Enugu and Asaba actors who are not being recognized at the award event in a post on his Instagram stories.

He asked that the AMVCA should be changed to Lasgidi/Lagos awards since actors in other states are not recognised.

His post read: “AMVCA ‘African Magic Viewers Choice Awards’ sincerely should be changed to Lasgidi/Lagos awards or something else because there are a lot of good actors and crew members in other areas under the same Nollywood working really hard that you all don’t recognize.”
