2023: Nigerians React As Peter Obi Joins Labour Party

The former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, joining the Labour Party has sparked outrage.

Obi enrolled as a member of the party in his ward in Anambra State on Friday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Obi announced his defection to the Labour Party in a message on his official Twitter profile on Friday, ahead of the 2023 presidential race.

According to the former governor, he joined the party because it shares his goals and motto of moving the country from consumption to production.

Obi said he chose the Labour Party because it stands for “people, workers, growth, production, security, and unifying Nigerians as one family,” according to him.

Some netizens have taken to social media to congratulate Obi on his defection to the Labour Party and assure him of their votes, while others mocked him for joining a party which has no political structure.
