The delegates of the Young Progressives Party in the Anambra south senatorial district gathered today at the Converge hotel in Nnewi to affirm their total support for the Senator representing the zone’s aspiration for a second term in order to build on his outstanding performance during his first term.
The Senator, who ran unopposed, received 34 votes and one invalid vote to win the party’s nomination.
In his acceptance address, the prince of the Senate promised to build on his achievements in the Senate thus far.

Officials from the party’s headquarters, led by National Secretary Barrister Vidiyeno Baimaiyi and his colleagues, handled the primaries, which were watched by members from the Independent Electoral Commission ( INEC ).
In related development, Hon Peter Uzokwe who is the former president general of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local government area also emerged as the candidate of the party for the Nnewi North , Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
