Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met behind closed doors with Governor Hope Uzodinma and former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.

The meeting took place on Monday at the National Secretariat of the ruling APC, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

According to reports, the meeting between the political heavyweights lasted three hours.

Governor Uzodinma informed reporters after the meeting that he was going to the Secretariat to speak with a ‘friend.’

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the meeting might be linked to Ekweremadu’s alleged plot to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ekweremadu is apparently planning to join the ruling APC and run for governor of Enugu on the party’s ticket.

Recall that the APC’s Enugu State Chairman, Ugochukwu Agballa, turned down Ekweremadu’s request to choose the party’s governorship ticket.

Despite the emergence of Uche Nnaji as the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Agballa accused the former Senate leader of requesting the party’s ticket.

While calling the lawmaker’s proposal as “evil,” he said that Ekweremadu was putting pressure on the APC to take the party’s ticket.
