Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, has disclosed why certain presidential contenders entered the 2023 presidential campaign.

According to a presidential contender from the All Progressives Congress (APC), some of the presidential candidates entered the race to secure lucrative positions from the winner.

Some of the contenders, according to Okorocha, purchased the APC Nomination and Expression of Interest forms in order to gain fame and reputation.

According to the former governor of Imo, several presidential hopefuls entered the race despite the fact that they knew they would never be chosen as the party’s presidential candidate.

“Do you know that some people buy these forms so that they can negotiate for a ministerial appointment,” he said.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the presidential candidate mentioned this on Thursday during an appearance on TVC News’ political show, Journalist’ Hangout.

Following the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC Governors, the incumbent Imo West Senator promised not to resign for any of the aspirants.

Okorocha, on the other hand, has urged the ruling party’s leadership to guarantee that the flag bearer is chosen through a primary poll.
