2023 Presidency: Ohanaeze Blasts Tinubu Over Viral Outburst

Bola Tinubu, a Presidential hopeful, has been chastised by the Igbo socio-cultural organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo for his recent outburst in Ogun State.

Tinubu, speaking to delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta on Thursday, claimed responsibility for Muhammadu Buhari’s election as President in 2015.

He also discussed how he endorsed Yemi Osinbajo for Vice President in 2015 and backed Dapo Abiodun’s election as Governor of Ogun State.

He should be paid with the APC presidential ticket, according to the APC national leader, because he was responsible for the rise of the three leaders.

Reacting to statements, the spokesperson for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Alex Ogbonnia, said Tinubu’s outburst shows that he is not interested in southern unity and checkmating the northern emasculation.

Ogbonnia claimed that the presidential candidate was being used by the political class to create division between the South-East and the South-West.

He said: “At this point, he is supposed to begin to help to galvanise the South to create southern unity and checkmate the northern emasculation of both the South-West and South-East.”

He further urged the President to create an environment conducive for a south-easterner to emerge as APC’s presidential candidate.
