Passengers at Enugu’s Akanu Ibiam International Airport were terrified when two unidentified passengers were detained on suspicion of threatening to bomb an Abuja-bound plane.

When the event occurred on Friday, the two male passengers were with a lady, according to report on Sunday evening.

They also failed to present their boarding permits, which prompted concerns about their intentions at the airport.

The passengers allegedly threatened to bomb the plane during the ensuing altercation with airline personnel.

The event, which occurred on Friday, is alleged to have sparked panic at the airport, with passengers being urgently ordered to evacuate so that the plane could be thoroughly scanned.

According to a source at the airport, the three travelers were apprehended and held by airport security personnel.

The arrest, according to the source, was only a precautionary move to keep them detained until the airplane arrived in Abuja safely.

The source indicated they were turned up to security services, therefore it was unclear whether they (suspects) had been freed at the time of reporting this story.
