On Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari paid a visit to the Kuje prison, which was the target of a terrorist attack on Tuesday.

Remember how on Tuesday night, suspected Boko Haram fighters invaded the institution, set off dynamite bombs in several locations, and liberated at least 600 prisoners?

To evaluate the extent of the damage, the President went to the jail complex on Wednesday.

The President was escorted around the complex to check destroyed vehicles and assess the facility’s infrastructure.

Buhari was reportedly on his way out of the FCT to a conference in Senegal but detoured for an impromptu visit to the correctional centre.

He has, however, not made any comments on the situation following his visit.
