Many Nigerians disapprove of Bola Tinubu’s rumored choice of a Muslim from the north as his running mate. Tinubu is the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kashim Shettima, a senator from Borno Central, is purportedly Tinubu’s choice for vice president.
He had previously offered Kabiru Masari as a placeholder to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

However, the majority of Nigerians disapproved of the choice and urged Tinubu to choose a Christian from the north of the country as his running mate.
Political insiders had said that it was in the best interests of fairness, equity, and balance to elect a northern Christian.
But, following Tinubu’s alleged decision to settle for Shettima, some Nigerians have expressed divergent views on the development.
