Oyo Deputy Governor, Olaniyan Impeached By State House of Assembly

Engineer Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan, the deputy governor of Oyo State, has been removed from office.

On Monday, members of the state House of Assembly impeached Olaniyan.

The lawmakers impeached the deputy governor around 11:30 a.m.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party predominate in the House of Assembly (PDP).

Following the panel’s recommendation, the MPs declared during Monday’s session that they had impeached the deputy governor.

After the report of the seven-person panel formed to look into claims made against the deputy governor was adopted, it was announced that the deputy governor had been impeached on Monday.

The panel report was read by the Majority Leader of the House, Sanjo Adedoyin from Ogbomoso.
