The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), praised Nigeria’s Super Falcons for their “resilience and professionalism” against the Moroccan female national football team in the second semi-final of the African Women’s Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

According to a statement signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, titled ‘Thank you for the valiant display, President Buhari to Super Falcons,’

President Buhari, according to Adesina, is encouraged by the girls’ tenacity, resilience, and professionalism, despite playing with two players down in front of a home audience.

‘‘Although many will be disappointed with the Moroccan victory on penalties, there are many positive outcomes for the Nigerian team to take home and prepare better for the next tournament,’’ the President said.
