Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a candidate for president of the Labour Party, has received congratulations from the Movement for Election of Nigeria President as he turns 61 on July 19, 2022.
The group’s National Convener, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, praised Obi in a statement on Monday as an excellent leader who is God-fearing, compassionate, detribalized, humble, honest, and unselfish in politics, private life, and public life.
Ezekwueme noted that Obi’s political career displayed exceptional and unheard-of flawless honesty, transforming the transactional nature of politics into one of transformation.

He said the LP presidential candidate saw politics as an avenue to render selfless service to the people and put smiles and hope on their faces.
It said, “It is on record that he prudently and selflessly utilised public fund for the public good, that while leaving office, he left N75 billion, while his contemporaries incurred huge debts.
“Since he left office in 2014, he has rendered unequal humanitarian aids and services in all the geopolitical zones of the country.
“His belief that leadership is call to serve and not to be served singled him out as a rare and unique personality and gift from God to serve and helps humanity.
“He is selfless, contented and fanatic when it comes to welfare of the citizens.”

The group said the best gift Nigerians should give Obi was to elect him as President, as according to them, he had the wherewithal to transform, rescue, redeem, restore and revamp the socioeconomic status of the country for better.
The statement added, “As you mark your birthday, we pray God to tremendously bless you, protect, guide and guard you with more wisdom, good health and wealth in the years ahead beyond your highest hopes and expectations through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
