Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has drawn criticism after refuting charges that his fans are combative online.
The former governor of Anambra State’s “Obedient” movement is thought to be a group of “social media warriors” that relentlessly criticize Atiku and Tinubu backers.
Obi was asked about the combative character of his followers during an interview with BBC Hausa, but he denied it.

Obi claimed that those making online attacks on other people are not really his fans but rather infiltration by rivals posing as his supporters.
In his words: Those people are not actually and entirely my supporters, They are actually people being infiltration, by opponents claiming to be my supporters or supporters of the Labour Party.”
Reacting to this, some Nigerians insist they are his supporters, stating that many people are angry and aggressive because of the current situation in Nigeria.
