See What Peter Obi Said About Fr Chietnum’s Murder, Imo Killings

Peter Obi, a candidate for president in the Labour Party (LP), has denounced the killing of Rev. Fr. John Mark Chietnum of the Kafanchan Diocese in Kaduna.

The deceased served as the coordinating chair in Southern Kaduna and the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the Jema’a Local Government Area.

He and another Catholic priest were taken hostage in the Lere local government region, where they were later found dead.

The former governor of Anambra stated in a statement that Chietnum’s murder “is among the numerous unnecessary bloodletting in Nigeria” in response to the cleric’s passing on Friday.

He called on Nigerian youngsters to rise up in unison and retake the country, attributing the numerous fatalities in the country to the country’s leadership.

“Nigeria youths must rise in unison irrespective of religion, tribe or geography to take back their country”, he charged.

Obi also denounced the killing of over a dozen young people in the Mgbidi region of Imo state.

The former governor of Anambra expressed concern over how “poor and worthless” human lives are valued.

He then extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Catholic community, and the Kafanchan Catholic Diocese.
