2023: Outcome Of Wike’s Meeting With PDP Leaders Revealed

The specifics of the meeting between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and a number of PDP leaders have come to light.

Wike met with four of his coworkers and a few PDP chieftains on Sunday night at the Rivers Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The governors are Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

Donald Duke, a former governor of Cross River state, Gabriel Suswam, a former governor of Benue state, Olusegun Mimiko, a former governor of Ondo state, and Seriake Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa state, are also present at the conference.

Others include, among other chieftains: Ibrahim Idris, a former governor of Kogi state; Jonah Jang, a former governor of Plateau state; Prof. Jerry Gana, a former minister of information; and Mohammed Abacha, a previous PDP candidate for governor of Kano.

Following the meeting, Gana told reporters that Wike and the PDP chieftains discussed the party’s current dilemma and possible solutions.

In order to assess the 2023 presidential primary and assure the party’s victory, he continued, PDP leaders are meeting with candidates.

Gana said, “This is the first meeting we are holding with all our candidates in the states after the primaries. We are united as one.

“We know that developments will unfold and when they do, we shall brief Nigerians.”

Another member of the party told BusinessDay that “Members only reviewed what transpired during the primary”, adding that “what our next line of action should be since no one has deemed it fit to sit down with our principal and discuss as genuine party men should.”

Other PDP members at the meeting include: Former PDP Deputy National Vice Chairman North, Suleiman Nazif, former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Mohammed Adoke, and member of the House of Representatives from Kogi State, Tijjani Yusuf, among others.
