Catholic Bishop Rejects Gov. Ayade’s N25 Million Donation To Church, Tells Him What To Do With It Instead

Ben Ayade, the governor of Cross Rivers State, recently made an offer to the Catholic Bishop of Uyo Diocese, John Ebebe Ayah, but he declined.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ayade, who was a special guest of honor at the church service in Calabar, donated N25 million on behalf of the state government, his family, and the judiciary in the online video that was published.

The Bishop asked for a chance to speak, noting that Ayade was his brother from Northern Cross River in his reply.

The audience and everyone in the church were surprised when he thanked the governor and urged him to use the funds to pay the workers’ salaries.

He said: “I want to talk. The governor is my brother, we are both from Cross River North. I want to appreciate the governor and tell him to package whatever he has for me, add to it and use it to pay the salaries of the workers.”

Ben Ayade, however, has declared that he would continue to work for the triumph of the party’s nominee, Bola Tinubu, regardless of the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary.

Ben Ayade thanked God during his press conference on Tuesday at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar for giving him the chance to show off his talents and for the positive feedback he had received about his initial speech from different people.

Ayade claimed that Bola Tinubu had won the party’s nomination and that there was a strong signal that everyone understood he had something to offer the nation but that now was not the time.

The governor stated that he would make sure Tinubu received a 100% vote in the 2023 election.
