Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, gave his thoughts following a service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
In a statement he personally signed on Saturday, Obi called the experience exceptional and said it gave him strength, joy, and love.
However, the former governor of Anambra State admitted that, above all else, he was delighted to have been among brethren at the worship session.
Taking to his Twitter account, Obi wrote: “Sharing moments of true worship last night with a great congregation at the RCCG Convention was a special experience of joy, strength and love for me. I was humbled by the warm welcome, but above all, I am grateful for the opportunity to be in the midst of the brethren. -PO.
Recalls Peter Obi was present at the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s 70th annual convention on Friday.
For the first time, the former governor of Anambra State visited Redemption City.
While Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), was present at Redemption camp, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), remained silent regarding the 2023 election.
According to an earlier report by Anaedoonline.ng, the congregation cheered loudly when Peter Obi was introduced at the church service on Friday night, and it took some time to calm the overexcited mob.
“It’s Jesus we are celebrating,” the woman who introduced Obi stated during the thunderous applause.
Due to the presence of Obi, some in the audience were expecting Pastor Adeboye to make a statement about the 2023 elections when he took the stage, but he chose to concentrate on the sermon instead.
