Insecurity: ‘Greater Days Ahead’ – Ifeanyi Ubah Assures Women Of Anambra South

The Marian House of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi was in a frenzy on Saturday as Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, senator for the Anambra South Senatorial District and YPP candidate for the district’s 2023 senatorial election, stormed the location to grace the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Diocesan women.

Senator Ubah commended the women for supporting Catholic Church principles and for being excellent disciples of Christianity in his address to the group after his entry into the meeting hall was met with raucous cheers from the women. The Senator, whose presence unmistakably sparked great excitement in the church, urged the Christian mothers to always uphold law and order in their various parishes and communities and to support the State Government in its fight against insecurity by informing the proper authorities of any suspicious movements.

Senator Ubah praised the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) and other women groups in the diocese for their efforts to improve the wellbeing of the people through their skills acquisition and support programs and promised to open up more areas of collaboration with them in her speech on the need for the church to maintain its support for the less fortunate in society. He emphasized once more that if everyone pitches in to help those in need, society will improve.

The senator encouraged the church to continue its good deeds and gave a monetary donation of three million naira to aid the women’s activities.

The cheering women in the hall were given gifts by the Anambra South Senator after he made a promise that every “Onye Nne” (Christian mother) in the room would receive something from him.

In addition, a raffle was held, and more than 30 women from various parishes and LGAs within the Nnewi diocese received brand-new sewing and grinding machines to help them with their enterprises.

Senator Ubah also praised the women for their contributions to fostering discipline and order in their respective homes and communities. He told them that in his official capacity as a Senator, he will continue to draw reputable projects and programs to the Anambra South Senatorial District and revealed that the donations are a part of his personal efforts to further the wellness of the people.

In his remarks, Sir Augustine Ikedoji (Synod), the YPP candidate for the 2023 Nnewi North State Constituency Election who joined the senator on the tour in August, thanked the Diocesan women for their unwavering support in advancing humanitarian issues. He advised them not to give up on fostering law and order in their diverse areas and reaffirmed his commitment to constantly protecting the interests of the less fortunate.

Chief Dan Edokwe and Chief Ernest Otugo, who were also in the Senator’s entourage, also spoke and congratulated the women for being good examples of Christianity and followers of its teachings.
Both of them agreed with the senator’s offer of $100,000 each in cash to the Diocesan Women to support their activities and urged them to continue their good deeds.

In response, the women expressed appreciation for Senator Ubah’s unusual efforts to change the narrative in the senatorial district as well as his humanitarian deeds through their leadership.

Women who couldn’t contain their happiness continued to assert that Senator Ubah began making extraordinary efforts toward human potential development even before entering politics. They also assured him of their ongoing support and complimented him on the efforts he has made to bring reputable programs to Anambra South using the tools provided by his office.
