2023: PDP Presidential Primary Legality Questioned As Atiku, Wike Camp Begin Legal Fireworks

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Rivers State Governor’s camp, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, will launch legal fireworks today at the Federal High Court in Abuja over the legality or otherwise of the primary election that produced Atiku.

Chief Michael Newgent Ekamon, a party chieftain, filed the suit, asking the court to overturn Atiku’s victory and declare Wike the PDP’s legitimate presidential candidate.

According to a hearing notice obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the matter has been scheduled for a definite hearing before Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed.

According to sources, Wike has assembled some Senior Advocates of Nigeria whose identities are unknown, while Ayo Kamaldeen Ajibade, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, will lead Atiku’s legal team.

Respondents in the FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022 suit include Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the PDP, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
