Strike: You Can’t Break Our Ranks With Threats – ASUU Tells Pro-Chancellors

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)-affiliated university professors claim that no amount of intimidation from the Committee of Pro-chancellors of State Owned Universities in Nigeria (COPSON) will be able to split their ranks.

On Thursday, ASUU disclosed this information.

Anaedoonline.ng discovered that COPSON has previously advocated for no work, no pay legislation.

It stated that they would not be required to abide by the centrally agreed upon discussions.

However, according to ASUU, no amount of COPSON threats will be able to stop the union from attaining its objectives.

ASUU responded by advising the Nigerian Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities to cease pandering to the public.

“No amount of threats will make the union stop fighting for quality education and welfare of her members.

“ASUU is one, a thousand communiques and threats from COPSON cannot break our ranks and iron resolve to see this struggle and any other one in the future to its successful end.

“ASUU asked the pro-chancellors to provide evidences where they have improved the salaries and welfare of their school.

“Pro-chancellors of state Universities are always eager to run to Abuja to collect money from TETFUND which was brought into existence by ASUU.”
