Salisu Majigiri, the PDP chapter chairman for Kastina State, disassociated the PDP on Sunday from the demonstration demanding the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Majigiri claims that party members in Kastina State had nothing to do with the “Ayu Must Go” demonstration that took place in the state’s capital on Sunday.

When speaking to reporters about the situation, Majigiri stated that neither the local administration nor the PDP headquarters were represented by the protesters.

The PDP state chairman asserted that the demonstrators were invited to arrive and create problems that don’t exist in Katsina.

Majigiri declared their support for the party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar.

He continued by saying that Atiku has made it plain that no one can be removed without adhering to the party’s constitution.

Majigiri in his words over the protest said, “We in Katsina affirm and support the position of the PDP presidential candidate, his Excellency, Atiku Abubakar on the issue of party leadership at the national level.
