Bola Tinubu, an associate of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, has explained why the party’s presidential campaign council’s (PCC) inauguration was delayed.

The APC has temporarily postponed the inauguration of its campaign council, which was previously scheduled for September 28, 2022, according to an earlier report from Anaedoonline.ng.

When explaining the postponement, the campaign council’s director general, Simon Lalong, stated that it was done so the party could increase the number of members on its PCC list.

The PCC’s inauguration was delayed, according to an unidentified Tinubu loyalist who talked with Vanguard, to address issues with the list and enable the party to grow the council.

He added that there are claims of disagreements between the party’s presidential candidate and national chairman, Adamu Abdullahi, with supporters of Tinubu claiming that Adamu and the NWC members seek to seize control of the PCC.

The ally added, “Officials of the party did not like the fact that Tinubu made James Faleke secretary of the campaign council.

“What most of the NWC wanted is to retain the same position in the campaign council as they are currently holding in the party with Senator Iyiola Omisore being secretary of the PCC.”
