Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, is God’s choice to be the future leader of Nigeria, according to PDP National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.
In order to address Nigeria’s problems, Atiku was selected as president by God, according to Ayu.
Speaking yesterday in Bauchi as the city welcomed thousands of defectors, Ayu said that God had selected Atiku to bring the nation together.

Ayu noted that the Northeast has never given birth to the leader of Nigeria, but added: “But today, God has selected Atiku Abubakar, a son of the Northeast, to cure all the problems plaguing the nation and unify it.”
He gave the defectors his word that the PDP would treat them equally.
He also said that those attempting to stoke dissension inside the party would be let down.
”There are enemies of the party who are determined to cause division among us by uttering all sorts of lies against us. I want to tell you that they will be disappointed because at the end of the day, members of this party will come out en masse and vote.
“All our National Assembly, governorship candidates will come back to the office. Having stayed out of power for eight years, the PDP will be returned to power,” he said.

Following the nomination of Atiku as the PDP’s presidential nominee, several PDP leaders have been pushing for Ayu’s dismissal.
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has been leading the demand for Ayu’s dismissal.
Wike stated that the national chairman and presidential candidate of the PDP cannot be from the same region.
