2023: If Atiku Is Elected, This Is What Will Happen With Insecurity – Okowa

Gov Okowa

If Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, gets elected in 2023, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa claims Nigerians won’t need to carry weapons to defend themselves.

This was said by the PDP vice presidential candidate on Wednesday in Abuja at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) annual conference.

Okowa emphasized that the PDP will support the establishment of State Police and will give states more authority to deal with the nation’s numerous security issues.

He lamented that the Federal Government had shown no interest in the matter, saying that many Nigerians concurred that the creation of state police would lower the crime rate.

State Police, in Okowa’s opinion, would aid in the states’ efficient implementation of their anti-open grazing legislation.

The governor continued by saying that local residents will secure the safety of people and property while also putting a stop to illegal activity.

Okowa declared that the PDP would support the transfer of power to the states for improved national development, which would boost investment in states throughout the six zones.
