The Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) has requested an assurance from Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, that he will step down following the 2023 election.
Adolphus Wabara, the former president of the Senate and chairman of the PDP BoT, said Friday during a press conference in Abuja that “the national chairman should offer a strong pledge that he will quit after the 2023 election.”

Wabara added that the BoT ordered Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State and the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, to call an emergency meeting right now.
