PDP Chieftain Reveals Why He Is Backing Peter Obi, Asks Ikpeazu To Step Down For Abaribe

Dr. Sampson Orji, a previous PDP candidate for governor in Abia State, has requested that Okezie Ikpeazu, the state’s governor, drop his bid for the Senate.

He made the call while participating in a live broadcast of the radio show “Open Parliament,” which was heard in Umuahia.

Orji, a former commissioner for trade and commerce, requested Ikpeazu resign so that All Progressives Grand Alliance senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who is now in office, could take over (APGA).

Orji claimed that Ikpeazu cannot defeat Abaribe and that the PDP candidate for the Abia South Senate District is inferior to the red chamber’s current member in terms of qualifications.

He said that if allowed to choose between Governor Ikpeazu and Senator Abaribe, he would vote for Abaribe against Ikpeazu as “it is like asking one to choose between “experience and lack of experience.”

Orji stated his support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president.

The previous candidate for governor declared that he will rally support for Obi because of his ancestry rather than because the Labour Party candidate is an Igbo like him.
