Effiong Akwa, the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) only administrator, has been fired by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Akwa was only recently named the head of the NDDC in October.
He was fired, but no explanation was offered.

The dismissal was announced in a statement by Patricia Deworitshe, the ministry’s director of press, which also claimed that President Buhari had given his approval for the appointment of a new management group and Governing Board for the NDDC.
The announcement states that the nominees for the Board will be revealed later.
