Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential contender, has visited flood victims in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Obi visited the flood victims a day after meeting State Governor Samuel Ortom at his residence in Abuja and suspending his presidential campaign to show support for those affected by the nation-wide flooding.
Tiv Chiefs, leaders of the Labour Party, and his supporters in the state greeted the former governor of Anambra State.

Obi told the victims in Makurdi that he needed to visit the state to assess the full scope of the flood damage.
He said: “Even though I have offered my prayers to victims through your governor, I felt that coming in person to commiserate with you is important.”
Obi was accompanied by the Benue State Labour Party Chairman, Dr. Idoko Ibrahim and the House of Representatives candidate for the Apa/Agatu constituency, Melvin Ejeh.
