UK Govt Restricts Access To High Commission, Warns of Possible Terrorists Attack In Abuja

The British government has once again warned its nationals that a terrorist strike in Abuja, the country’s capital, is a possibility.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the occurrence happened after the United States of America issued a warning about a rising possibility of a terrorist strike in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The United Kingdom urged its residents in Nigeria to exercise caution and maintain vigilance in a statement released on Sunday by its embassy in Abuja.

In order to avoid becoming a target of a terrorist attack, the British government also asked its residents to pay attention to local news and security officials’ recommendations.

Additionally, it forbade citizens from going to markets, malls, hotels, clubs, restaurants, football stadiums, displaced persons’ camps, transportation hubs, public buildings, and schools.

In a related event, in response to the UK Embassy’s advisory, the British High Commission in Abuja has limited access to its building.

Only essential workers will be permitted access to the Commission’s facilities on Monday, October 24, according to a notice that was made public on Sunday.
