The Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria’s Abuja is under renewed threat from terrorist attacks, according to the United States of America (FCT).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the US Embassy in Abuja released a statement on Sunday with the advisory.
As a result of the situation, the Embassy made an announcement that it would provide fewer services up until then and urged Americans to stay put.

The statement also mentioned additional potential targets for the terrorists, such as government buildings, houses of worship, schools, markets, shopping centers, hotels, bars, restaurants, sporting events, transportation hubs, and offices of international organizations.
According to the statement from the Embassy, “There is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja. Targets may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations. The U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice.”
The US Embassy went on to advise Americans to avoid all unnecessary travel and movement, to be vigilant, to stay away from crowded areas, to check their personal security measures, and to keep their cell phones charged in case of need.

It further stated that concerned individuals should carry valid identification.
