PDP Don’t Need Wike, Makinde To Win Rivers, Oyo, Others – Momodu

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, does not require the support of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State or other resentful governors to win their states, according to Dele Momodu, the PDP’s director of strategic communications.

Momodu, a former PDP candidate for president, reportedly said this on Tuesday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The PDP chieftain claims that despite running against the state-born Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, the main opposition party won the Osun State governorship election.

When asked if the PDP is in crisis and can survive without the governorships of Oyo State by Governor Seyi Makinde, Benue State by Governor Samuel Ortom, Abia State by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and Rivers State by Governor Nyesom Wike, Momodu responded, “Our party is not in trouble. God is in charge of everything you are on earth, and I am a kid of destiny. Twenty governors cannot stop Atiku from becoming the next president if that is God’s will.

“It happened before our very eyes in Osun State. We counted on Governor Seyi Makinde to come but for whatever reason, he did not make it. We didn’t have Governor Wike when we were doing campaigns in Osun State.

“We were able to defeat the fire-power of Bola Tinubu who comes from Osun State. So it was very important that he should win Osun State but despite the absence of all those we were expecting to support us we won the election convincingly.

“That is why I keep begging Wike not to be found wanting on the day he is needed the most. Whether he likes PDP or not the party has done very well for him just as he has done well for the party.”
