On Wednesday night, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, met behind closed doors with Ben Ayade, the governor of Cross River State, Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, and Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia State.

According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the meeting took place in his Rumueprikon country house in the Port Harcourt neighborhood of Obio-Akpor.

Prior to the 2023 general elections, Ikpeazu, who supports Governor Wike, is battling systemic unfairness inside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

There are hints that Wike and Ikpeazu met with the APC governors to discuss the turmoil engulfing the opposition PDP.

It’s possible that Ayade and Umahi are requesting Wike and his supporters’ backing in the upcoming presidential election.

Wike and the governor of Cross Rivers are having their first encounter since the two broke out over disagreements within the PDP.

This meeting will take place shortly after Governor Wike and his allies decided not to support the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar for president due to the northern dominance in the party’s top posts.
