EPL: Cristiano Ronaldo Regrets Returning To Man United, Calls It ‘Disaster’

According to a new book, Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has called his reunion with the team “a nightmare.”

After initially departing Old Trafford in 2009 for an £80 million move to Real Madrid, the 37-year-old came back last summer.

However, Ronaldo’s return to the Premier League club has not been without its challenges.

The Sun reports that everything has been disclosed in the book Messi vs. Ronaldo: One Rivalry, Two GOATs, and the Era That Remade the World’s Game, which details his stellar career.

Ronaldo admitted to an executive at a FIFA function that he thought interim head coach Ralf Rangnick was a catastrophe, revealing his displeasure with him.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is also dissatisfied with the club’s lack of progress since his departure more than ten years ago and is highly irate about the Carrington training facility’s lack of investment.

Despite all of that, Ronaldo ended up becoming United’s leading scorer last season with 24 goals across all competitions in 39 games.

The situation for Portugal’s captain has gotten worse this year as a result of Erik ten Hag’s removal from the team as a regular.

In all competitions, Ronaldo has only made 13 starts, often off the bench.
