Nigeria’s present security threats have been offered assistance with by the Turkish government.

The nation promised Nigeria that it would share its experience, technological know-how, and technology with the African Giant, including by sending drones and helicopters to address the current security problems plaguing some areas of the nation.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the news was announced yesterday in Abuja by Hidayet Bayraktar, the Turkish ambassador to Nigeria.

Speaking yesterday at the celebration of the 99th National Day of the Republic of Turkey in Abuja, Bayraktar called the security assistance provided by Turkey to Nigeria a success of the 2021 defense cooperation agreement between the two nations.

The diplomat said Turkey was set to extend all kinds of support to Nigeria during trying times.

“The defence contracts signed between our countries last year marked a historical record.

“Taking this opportunity, I am proud to announce that two of our flagship defence industry platforms, Bayraktar (TB-2) drones and (T-149) ATAK helicopters, are set to arrive in Nigeria.

“We are confident that new Turkish defence products will support the efforts of the Nigerian government and contribute immensely to the peace, prosperity and security of fellow Nigerians,” Daily Trust quoted Bayraktar.

However, Bayraktar claimed that the Turkish government also anticipated that the Nigerian government would respond to its legitimate security concerns by taking the appropriate measures to combat the vicious FETO terrorist group’s prodigious presence in Nigeria.

Regarding the bilateral ties between the two nations, Bayraktar expressed his pride in the fact that the years 2021 and 2022 saw significant advancements in Turkey and Nigeria.

He declared that, at the rate at which business ties are developing, Turkey will soon reach its goal of $5 billion in annual bilateral trade with Nigeria.

Amb. Zubairu Dada, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, stated that since the exchange of high-level visits between the two Presidents in 2021, commerce and bilateral relations between Nigeria and Turkey have increased.

The Turkey-Nigeria Business Congress, which will be held in Istanbul in September 2021, will serve as evidence of how eager Nigerians remain to do business with their Turkish counterparts, according to Dada.
