UPDATE: President Buhari To Spend 14 Days In UK For Medical Treatment

The country’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, will once more travel to the UK for more medical care.

The president’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made this announcement on Monday via his Twitter account.

On October 31, 2022, the president will depart for London while presiding over an urgent security council meeting at the State House in Abuja.

His tour takes place against the backdrop of severe flooding that has devastated certain states across the nation, forcing residents to flee their homes and damaging property worth billions of Naira.

Additionally, the spate of instability in Abuja has increased concerns after it was discovered that terrorists planned to assault the city, forcing the UK and the US to evacuate their citizens.

Adesina referred to the procedure as a “regular” medical checkup but did not go into any detail.

Buhari had received medical care in the UK for nearly seven months as of August 7, 2022, at various periods.

The president visited the UK for medical care the last time on March 6, 2022, staying there for 12 days before coming home.

The president will come home in the second week of November 2022, according to the president’s communications adviser.
