The People’s Democrats said the party was set to take control of Gombe State from the ruling Congress of All Progressives in the 2023 general election, following the recent mass defection of this state.

, Isa, in a statement sent to reporters in Kaduna on Tuesday, also congratulated the governor’s current adviser on religious affairs, Auwal Abdullahi, who recently resigned and family His family joined the PDP.
“The winds of defection blowing in Gombe State have caused the incumbent Governor’s Adviser on Religious Affairs, Dr Sheikh Auwal Abdullahi (Gafakan Akko), even as supporters will join them. you,” he declared.
The PDP chieftain added, “Fresh reports from the state have revealed that massive resignations in the government are quietly ongoing, to the shock of the Governor, who was said to have frantically reached out to the leadership of the ruling party to act quickly in order to slow down the gale defections, especially in the ruling party structure.”
He attributed to what he termed as “the shift in alliances,” to the mobilisation drives of the PDP Governorship candidate in the state, Hon Jibrin Barde.
He said, “The defectors in large numbers that will be received by Barde’s PDP in the next couple of weeks are believed to be members of the ruling party that have lost faith in the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya for what the defectors considered failure of the administration to deliver on its mandate over the years.
