Police Confirm Arrest Of 8 Domestic Workers Over Ifeanyi Adeleke’s Death

Eight domestic helpers were detained at the home of famed musician Davido in connection with the death of his son, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

The police public relations officer for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified this to Newsmen on Tuesday morning after it was claimed that Ifeanyi had drowned in a pool.

While reporting the arrest to our correspondent, Hundeyin mentioned that further investigation is still being done.

He said, “The eight domestic workers were arrested this morning. Investigations are ongoing I don’t have any update yet.”

At his father’s home in Banana Island, Ifeanyi Adeleke, 3, drowned on Monday night and was taken to the hospital.

According to reports, Chioma left the child with a female domestic worker as she traveled to Ibadan while Davido was reportedly on his way to the United States at the time the incident occurred.

Following the development, famous Nigerians have expressed their condolences to the couple on social media for losing their kid.

Eniola Badmus, a close friend of the artist, shared an emoji with the troubling statement “But Why” in a post that has since been deleted on Instagram.

Popular comedian, Ayo Makun, who didn’t make direct reference to the incident, wrote in an Instagram post late Monday: “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic. This hits me so bad”

Actor, Williams Uchemba said, “Please say a prayer for David, Chioma, and the entire family. Nobody deserves this kind of pain. Rest up little one.”

Also, Muyiwa Ademola via his Instagram page said, “It is one of the sad.
