The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has sanctioned Arise TV for airing false allegations concerning All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
For violating the broadcasting code, the television station was fined N2 million.
On Sunday, Arise TV apologized for stating that the Independent National Broadcasting Commission (INEC) was investigating Tinubu for alleged illegal forfeiture of money on narcotics and illicit drug charges.

INEC disputed the statement on which Arise TV based its claim over the weekend.
The incident compelled the station to recant its comments and apologize to Tinubu.
