Court Disqualifies Rivers APC’s Nominee For Governor

Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor of Rivers State, has been disqualified by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.

According to ANAEDOONLINE.NG, the state’s PDP has requested that Cole of the APC be disqualified on the grounds that the delegates who cast their votes in the primary poll that selected the candidate were not legitimately elected.

When the case started, the attorney for APC raised a preliminary objection over the court’s authority to hear the lawsuit.
