Governor Ahmadu Fintiri presented a N175 billion budget proposal to the state House of Assembly on Friday for consideration as the state budget for the fiscal year 2023.

Fintiri said he branded the budget ‘Budget of Consolidation and Projects’ when he presented it to MPs in Yola, saying it aimed to consolidate what his government had done in the previous years since he became governor in 2019.

The N175,019,054,060 budget estimate includes a recurring expenditure proposal of N105,011,432,436 (60 percent of the overall plan) and a capital expenditure proposal of N70,007,621624 (40 per cent of the total budgetary proposal).

He announced that education was allocated the largest share of the capital expenditure proposal because apart from working to sustain numerous ongoing projects in the sector, some new ones, such as establishing three special schools for the gifted, would be accommodated in the proposed budget.
