The killing of the Labour Party’s Kaduna women leader, Mrs Victoria Chintex, who was gruesomely murdered by some unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, has been described as terrible by the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

While expressing his condolences, Obi stated that the assassination of the woman and many other innocent Nigerians is the reason why, if elected president in the upcoming 2023 general elections, he will prioritise the fight against insecurity as his first priority.

According to ANAEDOONLINE.NG, the hoodlums also shot Chintex’s spouse in the leg, and he was immediately transferred to an undisclosed medical institution for treatment.

LP in the southern Kaduna senatorial zone, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Edward Buju, also condemned in strong terms the brutal and cowardly assassination of the Women Leader.
However, Obi took to his verified social media handles on Tuesday evening to mourn the death of the woman leader and to condole with her family, saying, “I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet to be identified gunmen.

“Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.

Speaking further, the LP presidential candidate, said, “Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritise the war against insecurity as my first task in the office.

“We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise,” he maintained.
