Court Annulled Abia APGA Gov Primary, Orders Fresh Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance governorship primary election held on May 29, 2022, was declared invalid by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday. A new primary election must now be held within 14 days.

The ruling was made by Justice Binta Nyako, who presided over the case, in response to a lawsuit filed by Chief Chikwe Udensi, a candidate for governor, disputing the results of the primary election.

Udensi, who was upset after losing the election to Professor Greg Ibe, filed a lawsuit.
According to the evidence and witness testimony, the primary election on May 29 was “flawed and riddled by irregularities,” according to Justice Nyako.
